Lenovo Yoga 900 Review

November 04, 2015

Lisa Gade reviews the Lenovo Yoga 900, the successor to the Yoga 3 Pro. Lenovo’s starting with a clean slate when it comes to model numbers, and ironically the Yoga 900 is more “pro” than the Yoga 3 Pro it replaces. The Yoga is currently available with 6th generation Skylake Intel Core i7 CPUs, and it’s the 2.5 GHz i7-6500U dual core 15 watt CPU with Intel HD 520 graphics (there is no dedicated graphics option).

Unlike the reviewer above, I'm not too fond of the trackpad. But I've been using various MacBooks for over 10 years, so I tend to not like trackpads on Windows laptops. Whenever I've used this, I use a mouse.

I'm still trying to figure out a way to take better pictures without screen glare and reflection affecting photo quality.

This laptop, converts to tablet by folding the screen behind the keyboard

The only issue I've experienced with this laptop is that it won't wake up from sleep mode - apparently a known issue with Lenovo laptops from this era, see't+wake+up+from+sleep+mode - and requires a reboot. So I just changed the Windows power setting to "never sleep", which is a lame but an effective workaround. Since this was a secondary laptop for me, I didn't spend much time looking for a solution.

I am not the original owner - I bought this about a year ago to use as a secondary Windows computer. Overall condition is good - there are some scratches on the outer orange finish, and this won't be mistaken for new.
